Mountain Cabins

Typology : Hospitality
Location: Anywhere.
Area: 25 m2
Year: 2025
Status: Concept

As the micro-hospitality trend gains momentum, we have designed a new series of prefabricated cabins that respond to the needs of both adventurers seeking immersion in nature and hospitality entrepreneurs looking to establish a scalable, sustainable business model.

The cabins are conceived with a structural system based entirely on locally sourced, certified timber, ensuring reduced environmental impact while supporting regional economies. The primary framework consists of prefabricated wood panels and modular structural elements, allowing for rapid assembly on-site with minimal ecological footprint. This approach not only reduces construction time and costs but also ensures a high degree of precision and quality control.

Each unit measures 2.2 meters in width by 5 meters in length, a compact footprint that has been carefully studied to optimize space efficiency. The program is organized across two levels: on the ground floor, a living area, kitchenette, and bathroom are arranged in a linear sequence, maximizing functionality within minimal dimensions. Above, an open loft accommodates a queen-size bed, accessible through a light, space-saving stair or ladder system.

Interior surfaces are clad with American white oak panels, chosen for their warm tone, fine grain, and durability. The oak cladding creates a refined and inviting atmosphere, complemented by recycled composite panels in high-performance zones where additional resistance or low-maintenance surfaces are required.

Natural ventilation is achieved through strategically placed operable windows and cross-ventilation openings, reducing reliance on mechanical systems while enhancing indoor air quality. Generous glazing frames exterior views, reinforcing the concept that the true luxury of the cabin lies in its immediate connection to nature.

By combining compact modular dimensions, sustainable timber construction, and high-quality finishes, these prefabricated cabins provide a cost-effective yet sophisticated solution. They embody the values of contemporary hospitality—responsibility, efficiency, and a seamless dialogue with the landscape.
