JVP house
This private residence is conceived as a contemporary luxury estate designed to integrate architecture, landscape, and outdoor living into a cohesive residential environment. The project comprises approximately 1,200 square meters distributed across two levels, organized as a series of interconnected volumes that frame gardens, terraces, and exterior living spaces. The house is conceived not as a single compact mass but as a composition of horizontal volumes carefully arranged to create a sense of scale, privacy, and spatial richness throughout the property.
The architecture balances solidity and openness. The lower level is expressed through strong stone-clad volumes that anchor the house to the ground, while the upper level appears lighter, finished in smooth stucco and defined by generous overhanging roofs that extend outward to shade terraces and outdoor areas. This layering of materials and volumes reinforces the horizontal character of the residence and establishes a warm yet refined architectural language appropriate for a contemporary estate.
The arrival sequence is designed as a gradual transition from the landscape into the house. Visitors approach through a generous driveway that leads to the main entrance, where a recessed foyer marks the central axis of the residence. The entry space acts as a moment of compression before opening toward the primary living areas, creating a clear sense of procession through the house. Large windows and glazed openings frame views toward the gardens while allowing natural light to penetrate deep into the interior spaces.
The ground level contains the principal social and service areas of the residence. Living spaces unfold in a sequence that connects the main living room, dining areas, and family gathering spaces, allowing them to operate either independently or as a continuous open environment for larger events. These areas open directly toward expansive outdoor terraces and gardens, dissolving the boundary between interior and exterior living. A large covered terrace functions as the main outdoor living room of the house, creating a protected space for dining, lounging, and social gatherings while overlooking the landscaped garden.
The service areas are carefully integrated into the plan to support the daily operation of the estate without interfering with the primary living spaces. A secondary service entrance connects directly to the kitchen, mudroom, and operational areas of the house, ensuring efficient circulation for staff and daily activities. The ground floor also includes dedicated spaces for wellness and recreation, such as a private gym and leisure areas, as well as a four-car garage integrated discreetly into the architectural composition.
The upper level contains the private residential quarters, where bedrooms and family spaces are arranged to maximize privacy and views of the surrounding landscape. Each bedroom benefits from generous glazing and access to terraces that extend the interior spaces outward. The composition of volumes on this level creates intimate outdoor spaces where vegetation and planted terraces soften the architecture and establish a direct relationship between the house and the natural environment.
Landscape plays a fundamental role in the overall concept of the residence. Gardens surround the house on multiple sides, creating a sequence of outdoor rooms that complement the interior spaces. These landscaped areas provide visual continuity across the property while also reinforcing privacy and tranquility within the estate.
Throughout the project, the architectural language emphasizes proportion, material quality, and spatial continuity. Large windows, deep overhangs, natural stone surfaces, and carefully integrated vegetation contribute to a residence that feels both substantial and inviting. The result is a house that combines the scale and presence of a luxury estate with the warmth and livability of a carefully crafted home, designed to support both everyday family life and larger social gatherings within a refined architectural setting.
